Jakarta, September 9th,  2023 – Living Lab Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of Sinar Mas Land, will team up with Spatial Pleasure, a Tokyo-based start-up specializing in climate planning and carbon credit generation within the transportation sector. This groundbreaking partnership aims to drive decarbonization efforts in the urban transportation landscape, with a focus on BSD City, Indonesia. The collaboration has been made possible through the support of JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization).

BSD City, spanning approximately 6,000 hectares and housing around 400,000 residents, represents one of Indonesia’s largest planned communities. Sinar Mas Land, as the operator of BSD City, has been actively spearheading initiatives to curtail traffic-related carbon emissions. These initiatives encompass a range of projects, including the development of shuttle bus networks and pedestrian walkways.

The aim of this collaboration is two-folded;

1. Science Based Targets   

Clearly understand the current traffic dynamics in the BSD City, set the quantitative emission reduction target, and also the disclosures of the targets in the CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) will be explored.

2. Carbon Credit   

Quantify the environmental value of mitigation measures included in the above plans,  and generate an Emission Reduction Certificate in SRN-PPI and Carbon Credit in JCM.

The collaboration between Spatial Pleasure and Sinarmas Land was made possible through JETRO’s Indonesia-Japan Fast Track Pitch Event 2023. The Startups who has been selected as finalists in the Fast Track Pitch are granted additional consideration in the selection process for the Asia Digital Transformation (ADX) Promotion Program.

Spatial Pleasure is developing Climate Planning and dMRV software in the urban-transportation domains.
